Viv is the founder of Be Amazing, she takes an emotionally intelligent approach to her work coupling business and people skills to inspire and enable others.
She isn’t afraid to challenge and places a high value on continuous improvement.
Doing something because we’ve always done it, isn’t good enough.
Whilst placing a high value on data and financial information Viv believes in the power and importance of people. She will always seek to encourage others.
Viv’s early career was as a Chartered Accountant gaining experience of the workings of a variety of businesses whilst part of the audit team at PwC Newcastle, in 1989 she was involved in the Sage plc flotation.
Wanting to get closer to the front line in business she moved out of corporate world to work as Financial Controller for a haulage company in the North East. As it became clear that the business was in difficulties, she formed a buyout team with the Operations Director and HR Director. The team successfully gained finance and backing from KPMG but unfortunately, the buyout didn’t come to fruition as the Ops Director had a change of heart.
Viv then took a career break to raise her three strong independent daughters, during which time she developed strong leadership and management skills!
Returning to work Viv realised that her entrepreneurial spirit was alive and kicking and in 2004 bought a bakery business out of liquidation. She exited the business in 2015 having built a team of 32 and moved the business from a turnover of £100k to £1.6m. In this time the business gained a reputation as a service led supplier of coffee shop products to a portfolio of nationwide foodservice distribution companies.
In 2015 Viv launched Be Amazing working with a variety of businesses, enabling and inspiring business growth across sectors.
